Sea Sabres and Sea Suns 2 Day Trip on Peace boat

August 8th & 9th, 2003

Santa Rosa Island

                                      Santa Cruz Island

The trip unfortunately was changed from San Miguel to Santa Rosa and Santa Cruz due to rough conditions, but the group was treated to the best diving conditions possible, great meals prepared by Debra, and lots of opportunities for all to enjoy the time together. Walter, Linda, Michael and Irene were equipped with film, digital cameras and video cameras to capture their memories of the trip, but most aboard brought their trusty spear guns to bring home the meat. Irene brought her nephew, Robbie, and an extra camera setup in hopes of giving him the opportunity to become an underwater photographer. After the first dive, Walter mentioned to me that since Robbie was a sixteen year old boy, he probably would enjoy killing the fish instead of taking their picture. I suddenly remembered him going to play paintball and the many hours on the computer playing the army video games. I talked to Jeff and asked him if he would consider taking Robbie with him on a dive just to watch him. That was the last time I got to dive with Robbie. Lloyd gave him some pointers and a gun and he came back from his first dive with his first kill happy as a lark. It never occurred to me that I had a Killer with me, but that's exactly what I learned on this trip. He had a great time and I now know what I will be buying for his Christmas present. End I don't have any digitals that I think are that good, but Michael has the fringe head blenny and about twelve other shots that I thought would be great to put on the website.
