Lois Ann

Directions to Boat

We usually will take the Lois Ann to Wreak Ally the Coronados in Mexico. The dive boat is a 47 footer with 3500psi air & NITROX fills, showers and the home cooking during the trip is included in the price.

FOOD:  Food and drinks are included in the price of all our charters. The meals depend on the time of day and dive sites; we serve a continental breakfast (on the morning trips), deli lunch at lunchtime, snacks and of course our famous homemade cookies. Coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and sodas are available during the charter. We are usually able to accommodate the needs of our vegetarian guests. If you would like any special food or drinks you are welcome to bring them along.

EQUIPMENT:
Soft weight belts and Steel 80 tanks are available for your use on the boat with an on-board air compressor for refills. If you have your own tank or weight system which you are used to, you may bring it. We are able to fill high-pressure tanks. It is recommended that you bring lights for both the wreck and kelp dives.
NOTE: Steel 80's hold the same amount of air as Aluminum 80's, it's just a different starting pressure. They both hold 80 cubic feet.

TIPPING: Boat crews are generally paid minimum wages, so if you feel they gave you extra attention and service to make your day more enjoyable you may want to leave a tip.

Crew:

Yes it is true, Larry and Lois Cochrane have sold the Lois Ann. She is now in the capable hands of Randy and Cheri Rice.

Many of you will recognize Randy, he has been working on the Lois Ann for over 10 years with the Cochranes both as a Divemaster and providing mechanical help when needed. Randy started his diving career here in San Diego over 14 years ago assisting dive classes at La Jolla Shores. Randy has had the good fortune to be able to dive travel extensively in the Pacific and Caribbean and brings a well seasoned and well rounded understanding of dive boat operations to the Lois Ann. Cheri also learned to dive in San Diego and continues to explore the local sites in her free time.

Woody Morrison has re-joined the Lois Ann after a six year hiatus in the Caribbean. Obviously the new owners were desperate! Woody and Randy were the initial Divemasters for the Lois Ann when she started running in the early 90's. A PADI Instructor, NAUI Course Director and 100 Ton USCG Captain, Woody is running the reservations office. Woody brings a 12 year teaching, Divemaster and captain/driving background to the operation.

Quincy Morris is a recent addition in the Divemaster slot. An experienced free diver, PADI Instructor and the absolute master on DUI Drysuits, Quincy brings an easy going confidence to the operation and the less than infrequent comic relief.
